"Hiboy Girl gets to drive a RACE hiboy across El Mirage lake" video !!!!
Guys!!!!!
I've had the most AWESOME experience a rookie could ever ask for last Saturday! I went to visit George Callaways at El Mirage, to interview him, his female roadster pilot and to film the roadster....
Little did I know I was going to get more than I bargained for!
AKA: AN OFFER TO DRIVE THE MODIFIED CALLAWAYS ROADSTER ACROSS EL MIRAGE ....
A religious experience which was FORTUNATELY captured on film. See the awesome little video clip I created last night to immortalize this wonderful new adventure! Please note that, due to the fact I could not be in two places at the same time - aka: driving the roadster and filming my driving it at the same time - I had to ask for some help and some of the footage of the roadster gliding on the surface were shot by me, with Paula actually at the wheel. Regardless, I think the video clip brings it home. ENJOY AND MERRY CHRISTMAS !
TO VIEW THE VIDEO: (NOTE: Be sure to have your speakers on for a full experience)
OPTION ONE: The better quality version is available on my website, but allow 1 to 5 minute download time, depending on your connection speed. You will see a small blank square until the video has fully loaded, then it will appear and start playing automatically. If you do not have high speed internet access, don't bother LOL

OPTION TWO: Tonight I will upload a smaller version of the video, it will be less large and not as good quality wise but will download faster for those with slower connections... I will post the link here when I am done.
Sorry I had uploaded the video to YOUTUBE.COM only to realize that because I used a U2 song in the background, I would get into trouble with YouTube so I took it down. Oh well...
Let me know how this works for you guys and ENJOY!Last edited by HiboyGal; 12-26-2006 at 03:22 PM.

Faith, I think it is great that you got to experience racing a roadster on the lakes, something not everyone gets to do.
I don't want to hijack this thread , but are you still looking for magazine articles on girls and roadsters?
I posted some more on your other thread a couple weeks ago, not sure if you've seen them.
If you have changed directions on this idea I'll quit looking.

Answers to your questions:
1- I did not drive the roadster fast. Part of me really wanted to but I did not want to abuse the trust the owner gave me. It was awefully kind of him to let me drive his priced car. This roadster won STCA point championship in 2004 if I am correct (give or take a year). I could not believe he offered me to drive it!
I was a good girl and did not go too far or too fast... Not sure how fast... Maybe 60 to 70 mph? Maybe less? Hard to tell... I could not see a thing - no reference point, I am too short and my feet also barely reached the clutch and gas pedal, making it hard to drive and shift... I never thought about looking at my instruments - not sure there is even a speedometer there... Only tachometer...
Later that day i also got to sit inside a weird top speed car (goes over 350 mph)... it is like a capsule all enclosed and i did not like it much. You have to lay down flat and it felt like a coffin I snapped some photos, will share them soon...FAITH

I was very surprised to hear a 4 pot engine.
I had to look up and see how fast this 4 cylinder roadster goes....148mph, wow thats impressive.
