DEUCE ROADSTER... Trip to the GNRS ends early in tragedy ( wreck )
THIS EMAIL IS FROM DEUCE ROADSTER a member here ....... :-( NOT ME !
The roadster was going to be at the Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona California this weekend. I loaded the 32 up in the trailer and left Friday for California going Interstate 40. Saturday a little after 1 o'clock ... just outside Memphis Tn.
A fellow changed lanes ... into my lane and run me off the Interstate ...The truck and enclosed trailer jack knifed and after hitting the guard rail with the tail of the trailer ... turned 180 degrees backwards and slid down into the median.
Both the tires and rims on the right side were destroyed and the roadster broke loose inside the trailer. So after 6 hours on the Interstate getting the tires replaced ( I had 2 spares ) and getting a wrecker to get the box up on level pavement ... the wife and I just towed the 600 miles back home ...
I was really looking forward to seeing all the 75th anniversary 32 Fords ... BUT ... I am very thankful that my wife and I were not killed.
The truck can be fixed ... the trailer fixed/replaced and I have a few extra 32 Fenders ... so in the end ... all's well when you can drive back home ...Last edited by nitrofc; 01-22-2007 at 05:47 PM.

Man tough luck, I'm sorry to hear that but at least metal is easier to mend than the human body. Glad to hear he and his wife are OK.

Thankfully you and your wife are ok. Obviously its a real bummer, but metal can be fixed and soon you'll be back on the road.

Big shame about the car and the Pomona plans................but............as you say, best that you and wife are fine. Glad you didn't get injured.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

That sucks, but in the "big picture", it was a blessing the sheetmetal took the hit and let you and your wife come out unharmed... a guy with your ability and talents will have that stuff back together and probably better than it was the first time around...with that said, it still does suck about the damage, and i do feel for you. Just remember that cars are replaceable... our lives are not. -JoeLast edited by joeybsyc; 01-22-2007 at 09:49 PM.

I'm glad you are all ok. It's a horrible sight to see and (i should imagine), pretty scary as well. Thats real bad luck but it sounds like you are positive about gettings things repaired quickly. Well done, you'll feel better about the whole thing when it's done.

I am so sorry about your accident... THANK GOD you both are OK. Did you end up making it to the GNRS? I did not have the chance to meet you... I was filming a lot and in the end did not spend a lot of time next to my car (aka: was wandering around).. Sorry I missed you if you did come by...FAITH
