Living in the rural Midwest does have its advantages, but not when it comes to stupid drivers. I have also had some close calls. What really bugs me is when someone tailgates me when I'm driving my '32. I want to get out at the stop sign and read them the riot act, but I would probably get arrested for road rage. To parody the Sixth Sense, "I see stupid people. They're everywhere. And they don't even know they're dumb."

There's no 12 step program for stupid!

Glad to hear you and HiBoy drove away from that close encounter unharmed. I find that as long as I can stay away from the "City" the drivers around here are much better. I do happen across the occasional person having an idiot moment... but for the most part ... not too bad. I've seen and survived MUCH worse.

TELL ME ABOUT IT!! here in LA, people LOOOOVE to tail gate on the freeway. I'd be driving in the slow lane on the freeway and there are 3 other WIDE OPEN lanes and people will be glued to my 1932 ass. WITH the gas tank in it!!

I have been VERY SERIOUSLY thinking about making myself a sign that I will hold up when I am been tailgated that will say something like: THE REAR BUMPER YOU ARE CURRENTLY TAILGATING HAS A 12 GALLON GAS TANK IN IT THAT BLOWS UP NICELY UPON IMPACT: DO YOU REALLY WANT TO FIND OUT HOW NICELY?

    Or:

THIS CAR HAS FLAME THROWERS IN ITS PIPE: KEEP TAILGATING ME AND YOU'LL BE NUKED!

What are the rules about flame throwers anyways? Just wondering.. Sure would be fun to see the guy's face as flames suddenly shoot out of my car's ass
