They stand up well.....no doubt about that.
Just make sure the Black paint matches the black of the powder coat.
There are many shades of black.
Should not have a problem after that.

This is a black powder coated frame - it cost me $480 which included full media blasting and a bunch of brackets. I originally painted it but wanted something more durable. So far I have dropped wrenches, nuts and bolts and a few stray parts with no affect. It does grow as C9 explained, but I had no problems reassembling. As far as shine - mine turned out as good or better as the paint (Centari single stage) that was on it previously. There is a minor bit of waviness, but it is a frame. Touch up(IF necessary) - black - easy .

I do all my frames in BC/CC, especially on high boys, got to have as nice a shine on the frame as the rest of the car.... Black is not just black, many many different shades and mixes for black....

I've always been 'economical' (read cheap) - that's my Scottish half coming out.

Charlie - I did - I forgot the @#$% driveshaft loop. The loop cross frame bracket is bolted on with Gr8's instead of being welded but I still had the assy PC'd

Dave - While this probably isn't quite as nice as BC/CC, for a fendered car with lots of stainless, chrome and aluminum, this is fine. For any road rash, it is a black-black, and my black Centari is too close to see any difference - I gouged a spring and the touch up cannot be seen. Maintainabilty was my key interest. While there is a lot of shiny stuff, it will not be a trailer queen but a driver. I don't mind cleaning but really dislike touch up, especially if there is some rust in the rash ding.

I've never seen a powdercoat job that was as good as base/clear urethane.

Durability - maybe, but I don't drive my hot rods in the woods or down gravel roads regularly. I like to color sand and polish the tops of the rails from the firewall forward and the sides back to the rear wheel.

You are doing black, which you may not have a color match issue, My Tudor in my avatar is a yellow I mixed myself, it was hard enough getting the body/frame/hood/shell/tank to all match up nice, and that all came out the same gallon can.

Like most things in life, It all comes down to what you can be satisfied with.

We should start a support group for people waiting a body from Brookville.....waiting a '29 and a '32 here....

Just a note for those seeking therapy buying from Brookville, and not a commercial since there's nothing in it for me. Also it doesn't help you guys way back east because of the freight costs.

Steve's Auto Restoration in Portland Or. assembles Brookville roadsters, and is just about done with the jigs for the '32 coupes. He can have a body assembled generally in about 3 weeks, puts them together with a little more care than Brookville, sells them for the same price, and BEST OF ALL, doesn't cover them in the cheap primer that adds labor in stripping time.
