    I was just working on this problem today. I measured where the fuel pick up and sender are located on the tank, and then transfered these measurement to the floor pan in the trunk, and used a hole saw and drilled the floor pan.
    Tomorrow I will make a removable cover for this acces hole.

    This is a photo of a 32 original tank. I do not know about a repro stainless tank ... but I know to get the electric in tank fuel pump installed ... the tank would need to be out. The edge where the Stewart Warner fuel level sending unit ( added by me ) and the original fuel pickup are ... is not very wide. 3 inches or less.



    Going 33 and 1/3 rpms in a IPOD world
