32 Deuce SS halogen headlights?
I have had a set of Bob Drake 32 SS deuce halogen headlights back ordered since Nov 2006. Today they claim by the end of May (God only knows if they will be ready then because they were supposedly to be ready at the end of Feb.) so WHERE else can someone buy a high quality SS 32 deuce halogen headlight? Surely someone has this answer and can recommend a reputable dealer? Thanks for the help. I just want the headlights to be as bright as possible and I do not care if they have or do not have internal turn signals.

When I bought my car in October of 06, I bought a large lot of items from these guys:
http://www.magoos.co.nz/
They worked with me and put together a nice package of virtually EVERYTHING I wanted for my car... including a pair of 32 headlights with the halogen bulb kit pre-installed. They were made by Vintique and are really nice pieces... Shoot Lloyd and email and tell him Joe Barr sent you, he's really a nice guy and also a fellow rodder with a sweet deuce of his own. I got everything I ordered (with the exception of my windshield frame) shipped to my door within 5 days of ordering... plus he's real good about swapping stuff out or returning things if you have a problem. By the way, don't be scared of the New Zealand address, they also have a shop in CA, and are quick and easy to deal with... .My bet is he can get you the lights, i think i paid 325.00 for mine with turn signals installed, if memory serves correctly, they were 300.00 without signals. Probably one of the best changes I made to my car, and they seem to work great.Joe Barr

Speedway is another source.
I ordered a set from them, very good quality imo.
I had to send em back due to my home-made headlight bar was too flat - the Deuce bars tilt the light down to start with and I didn't have enough range for downward adjustment.
And since the bar was chromed, I decided to stick with it and the Dietz lights.
No problems with Speedway going either direction....C9

I was worried about that same problem with the tilted lights... fortunately the headlight bar that So Cal sells is set up with the correct angle for Deuce lights and they worked fine... but you might want to keep that in mind too if you're replacing existing lights, as they may not be able to sit correctly.Joe Barr

I think these must be the new redesigned headlights that Bob Drake was advertising a while ago on his website? They were offering repro 32 headlights with a better reflector for a more concentrated beam. Vintique repro lights must available virtually anywhere in the US.
I got to admit i have these big repro (vintique) headlights on my roadster now, but i was really disappointed with their lighting ability, even with halogen bulbs.
I might have to put the 7" 'king bees' on in the winter and the big repro ones on for the summer.Last edited by UKrodder; 03-29-2007 at 11:12 AM.

On the last outing the weather was really bad and i couldn't see where i was with those big headlights. Summer obviously brings better weather and driving conditions.
Those tiny King Bees are have excellent lighting compared to the vintique repro 32 headlight which IMHO look good, but are useless at lighting up the road especially on a stormy night in the UK or anywhere.

Well I guess I will bite the bullet and "ONCE AGAIN" believe what the Bob Drake salesman is claiming that these new design 32 SS halogen lights will be available in the middle of May. Initially in Nov I was told the lights would be shipped in Feb 07 and the next story was the end of March with the LATEST tale being mid May. Hopefully I am not collecting another "WOLF TICKET" because I already have too many now. I like the large look of the repro 32 headlights, but I still want the brightest halogen headlight possible in this same size.

I bought a set of the Bob Drake optical redesigned headlight reflectors and all I can say is ...
... W O W ...
They are really nice. A great improvement over the older design halogen reflectors conversions I had. I then added the Sylvania Silverstar H4 bulbs ... again a very noticeable upgrade. The headlights on my 32 Roadster are as good as the headlights on my 2004 Silverado ...

Try SoCal I bought mine there about 6 or 8 months ago. I'm not sure if they're the new style or not. How can you tell if they are the new style?

I got mine from Bob Drake the other day but haven't had a chance to put them on. They were back ordered for well over a year but looks like they will be worth the wait. I've had the light bar from So Cal and the internal turn signal kit from Vintique for so long I hope I can find them.

You won't be disappointed. The So-Cal bar puts the lights exactly where they should be, not only for light projection positioning, but also for the best "look". Keeps the lights nice and low like they should be on a highboy. I just "eyeballed" mine to get them adjusted right and they work better than the lights on my daily driver. One of the better upgrades i've made to my car.Joe Barr
