Dumb bra question for a 32
I bought a bra off EBAY- used, like new. Covers grille & shell only. It has straps w/ S hooks. Like 4-5 down each side & 1 on bottom. I asked the guy who I bought it from- how he secured it. He said since his hood is lovered- he hooked them on to his louvers.
No way! My car is black! Looks to me you would open hood (mine is 4 piece & all louvered) & secure inside somewhere & then close the hood up over the straps. Problem is- the friggin hooks are so small- I can't find anything to hook it to- or I'm missing the obvious.
I'm about ready to file this thing & get the screen only bra to cover just the grille.
Any pics out there?

I dunno about them car bra's.
Dust gets under and abrades the paint.
I'd rather have a few rock chips.
I can see the screen, keeps the bugs out, my pal has one on his 29 roadster and it works pretty good.C9

My rad is full of bugs from a run to AZ & back. Plus 2 chips in the shell right next to the SS grille.
I may just do the grille screen w/ the chrome springs. They are cheap enough.

I would just do the screen, bra's are the wosrt thing you can do to a paint job!!! They sand with the dust every time it moves, driving or sitting still on a windy day.
My .02 worth, and many people I know that had one.

Anyone can cut one up, but! only some can put it back together looking cool!
Steel is real, anyone can get a glass one.

Here is what I do with mine.
Lift the hood. The top two i secure together under the rad hose.
The there are 2 on each side. Those I drilled small holes in my rad shroud ( I have no hood sides and the rad shroud is ABS.
The bottom one feed inder the car and hook on the inside of the grill.

Nice rod!
That looks the same as the bra I got from Evilbay.

Iceburgh where did you purchase your bra & combo bug screen? For short trips it would protect custom paint from rock chips & bugs. I'm aware of the sanding effect from dust or grime.
Henry, where did you get the pic of my wife and her tight body? She looks good to me and is sooooooooo sexy too!

Wardlow makes about as good as they will ever be:

I'm not a lover of these things - in a past life it cost me over a $1000 to get the front of a (POS) Porsche 944 repainted because the paint had been rubbed off everywhere it touched.Dave

If the body's in nice shape, I'd say no bra is the way to go!!!

Iceburgh - not much to protect on your car with a bra!
BTW, that's the first really close up I have seen of your car.... and all I can say is WOW what a beauty. Should be hard to spot it at the local shows.
I ran a standard bra on my 34 (grill shell and both front fenders) for several years with no problems of abrasion. Of course the paint wasn't new to begin with, nor was it a trophy quality paint job either. I did remove the bra everytime after it got wet, since leaving it on wet will fade the paint. 99% of the grit was in the creases at the lower edge of the bra, not in the bra flannel it self.
Last year after an accident I had the front end re-sprayed, so now I only use the bra for long trips or under conditions when chipping might occur. While the paint was curing I didn't use it at all. You do have to be careful with them.Bob
