Cowl vent questions...
OK, maybe this is a really dumb question, but has anybody ever added a cowl vent to a '32?
I know that back in the day, it used to be a common modification to fill a cowl vent, but I live in Michigan, and I'm thinking it might be kind of nice to be able to have some kind of ventilation other than AC for cruising...mid 70's are pretty typical for summer night temps around here, and that's when I'll be doing the majority of my driving.
I've got a Downs 3W Coupe, and right now it's got a smooth cowl, would it be feasible to add a cowl vent?

I bought one from Brookville and put it in my Dearborn Deuce. I think it's a great idea, very useful.

Wescott has the vent lid itself in glass along with the hinge, screen, & handle. They may have to scrap a body from time to time so it would be worth it to contact them if they can cut out the trough portion, or maybe they've had enough inquiries for guys who've decided to retro a bit that they've splashed some just for this purpose.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
