I had Hagerty for years but I heard Grundy was cheaper. Switched to Grundy and it cut my rates in half. However, my agent said that Grundy wouldn't insure anything less than $25K value.Bob

Dave ; go to the grundy web sit and check out the benefits, It appears they allow no limit driving and no monitoring of the odometer.Like I said earlier I am waiting on approval from them on the 34.They were cheaper than an of the ones I quoted .

I've used American Hobbyist ins. for insuring both my Cobras for almost 8 years. Getting ins.on one of those is hard. It was limited milage 5k a year, agreed on coverage. Way less per year than anyone else that insures Cobras. I recently talked to them regarding the Anglia and their rates were way less than either Hagerty or Grundy with less limitations. No you can't use it as a daily driver but you can take it out for a drive afterwork or on a cruise or rod run.
I've had Allstate for almost 30 years covering my daily drivers, home, business, etc. and they wouldn't cover a Cobra but they will cover a custom, street/hot rod, etc. Waiting to hear from my agent regarding the rates for my new toy.Last edited by G.R.; 01-21-2008 at 03:49 PM.

Daveyboy, yes your link to Gundy's "acknowledgement of use" did work! Thanks I am going to be checking into them and comparing them to American Hobbyist insurance. I want to see how both companies compare limitation wise. Thanks

Most collector car policies require that you not drive your car for daily purposes, like running to Wal Mart, going to the mall, picking up groceries, etc. Most people do it any way, especially if traveling to or from an event or for auto repair or maintenance. Most companies require that you have an insured daily driver and asks for a copy of your daily driver auto policy to verify that you do. At least the last three insurers that I have had did.
Only 1 had mileage restrictions and they also wouldn't allow for general transportation. Hagerty won't insure Cobras at all, don't know the reason behind that. I had Great American (now known as Infinity), and they had all of the above restrictions. Their pricing, even with mileage restrictions were higher than Grundy. If you want to drive your car daily, you might also want to check out State Farm and others that offer less restrictive polices but allow for "agreed value". You will likely pay a little more for the priviledge.Last edited by mopar34; 01-24-2008 at 09:01 AM.
