Anyone have their MC/Booster under the dash?
That's where mine is. PITA to get to but it is accessible.
My question is- anyone using the Kugel 90 degree unit under the dash & is there enough room to install the remote fill kit?
My thought is to replce the vette MC w/ the Kugel unit w/ the adaptors on top- run AN lines straight forward through firewall & mount the billet resevoir there. Problem is- I can't find any dimentional drawings for the MC or the remote resevoir. I'm not even sure I can get it in there. I might be able to build a plate & drop mine an inch or so. I'm hoping someone here has tried this or I guess I'll be buying it & crossing my fingers.
I wonder if there's anyone else that makes the remote resevoirs- perhaps shorter & wider? I don't know for sure if those lids will be under my hood- even if I drop the whole mount package.

I don't have this setup, but have been interested in it. Can the hoses for the remote resevoirs be routed through the firewall so as to mount the resevoir on the engine side of the firewall? There's no way that I could have both the resevoirs, the m/c and the power brake unit all mounted under my dash. Just not enough room, maybe not even enough for the m/c and PB unit.Bob

Really don't know how this double post happened. Thought I only clicked once. But after haveing seen several others on other threads, I guess it could be a echo...or a gremlin. ;-)Last edited by mopar34; 02-22-2008 at 03:37 PM.

Why not have the filler's mounted with access through the cowl vent. I think I saw this on one of Ken Thurm's cars?

No cowl vent on my car. The plan is to mount the remote resevoir(s) under the hood if it will fit. Another problem is the lip at top of firewall for the hood seal- it would have to extend far enough forward to be able to get the lid off.
I've found several- some use 2 resevoirs & I did find one that only uses one. That one uses a raised billet lid that fits over the existing dual Vette MC & seals w/ an o-ring. There's now a plenum area above the 2 resevoirs in the MC- the lid has 2 side connections- one is for the line to remote tank- the other is to a bleeder to remove all the air out of the lid. I like this one because I don't need to buy a bunch of new stuff. Down side is when you run low- you don't know which resevoir is being filled by the remote resevoir.
Big deal- I can't see in the top of MC anyway.
This would also work great for an under floor install.
Just to clarify- I have the Kugel unit in the car now. Just hard to get to top of MC to check or bleed brakes. Yea- I'm still working on the brakes- back ones now (in my limited spare time)
Again- NO FRIGGIN DIMENTIONS!!!!

Are there any manufacturers of these 90 deg. under dash units other than Kugel ?. Wanting to purchase one but would like to consider other options if available.
Cheers Tony.

Used to be a guy on here named Weeg had a 90 degree FLOOR mounted booster and master cylinder.... His pics are still in the gallery, might want to look at it, too. Was a very nice setup if you have the room and beats the heck out of standing on your head with a flashlight and a mirror trying to fill the master cylinder that's mounted up under the dash!!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

70s Dodge vans have this set up. I picked up a pedal assembly for my 37 ford from a pick a part for 15.00. I had to do some modification and use some longer pedals from a jeep, but did it all for less than 50.00. Much cheaper than the 600.00 for a krugel. Thought about it for my roadster but it already had floor mount on the frame.

Its hard to see what I had done. Mine has more modification than what you would do because I added a clutch master. I lengthened the entire assembly for this reason. You can see where I added some flat stock across the bottom of the assembly to lengthen it. The original bracket is where you see the diagonal weld across the bottom. I also added a piece where the booster mounts (ugly) because the dodge booster had a different mounting configuration. I also used different pedals because I needed the clutch pedal you wouldnt need to do that if your running brake only, however you may need to lengthen the brake pedal. As I remember the original pedal was a little short because it is for a van. It honestly took me an afternoon to do once I had everything. I have a plasma cutter so that helps out. I uses a couple rod ends and all thread to make an adjustable connection for pedal connection. If you can pick one of these up froma junk yard, its obvious where Krugel came up with the design. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Anyway, I may just keep mine all under the floor but I'm intrigued by the idea and enjoy innovative ways to accomplish the task and save lots of $$$ in the process.
Thanks again.

It will be a little tuff to fill, but I figured I would use a curved fill tube (candy cane shape) anytime after original fill. Once I fill it and bleed it, I dont anticipate having to fill it again for a long time. If I do I better figure where its leaking. This car is torn down for final welding and its hard to get any good pictures. Thats about best I can do, I tried a couple others but I have tubing squareing up the body (Convertible) so its very difficult to get a picture threw the tubing.

just registered on this forum and seen this setup ,its what ive been looking for for ages as a solution to fitting the servo out of the way without having to go the remote route underneath the floor......was goona mount the servo inside the firewall and the m/cylinder outside but no room inside so this will work good ,it all was outside with a v6 fitted but now got a 318 so no room in the inn....
