    Exhaust Help

Hey guys i was wondering if there was any chance people had some photo help for me... At the moment i am about to begin the build of an exhaust system for my 32 coupe, im chasing ideas on what people have done..

Im mainly chasing help on the rear section; At the moment the car has a triangulated 9inch with coil overs.. it also has a Tanks 16gallon tank.

No pictures, but my setup is exactly what you have. It was much easier for me to run the exhaust under the axle and out the back with the triangulated 4-link. I mounted the 50 series Flowmasters as far back as possible and used a center outlet muffler. I used only one u-bend and one straight piece of tubing to make the tailpipe. If you want to kick the tailpipe back up closer to the tank, it will take another bend. You must give the rear end housing clearance to drop the full travel of the shock without hitting the tailpipe, and you should give the tank and tailpipe enough clearance that fuel is not heated by exhaust. Going over the rear end housing looked much more difficult for me. Your muffler exhaust inlet and outlet positions will help you in where you can route the exhaust through the crossmembers. Keep this in mind and plan ahead before buying mufflers. And I used 2 1/2" exhaust all the way back. Some use 2 1/4" on the tailpipe section to help with clearance issues. Plan ahead for driveshaft clearance also. Hope this helps. There is more good info in this forum if you use the "search" tool.

I used 2 1/2 inch back to the muffler and 3 inch from the muffler back. I also went under the axle as there was no room to go over it. The mufflers are Dynomax Ultra-flows.

    Before and after shots ...

With a 4 link and custom fabicated rear coil spring rear suspension ... there is NOT a lot of room under my 32 either,
but with a little time and effort ... it can be done.
After I finally was satified with the placement of the exhaust,
I had the entire system coated by Jet-Hot. It looks nice and it cuts
    the heat way down.

I am using a smaller fuel tank than 16 gallons ... so your results may be different.

    Here's mine.
It also runs under the axle.

Mufflers & tailpipes are now polished stainless, front pipes are ceramic coated.
The to-do list is to replace the front pipes w/ stainless, including the headers, someday.
