Door Weatherstripping
The 32 coupe, 5 window I just bought has NO weatherstripping around the doors or trunk yet. When I drive the car, the doors clank when I hit bumps! They are adjusted perfect as they close/open and latch very well.
The guy I bought the car from said there is not really any "specific" weatherstripping to buy for the car since they all have different gaps to fill and very in width. Is this true?
In the end I want to buy some for the doors and the trunk. Where is the best place to buy it? Also, does the weatherstripping go around the actual door or does it go around the door frame (on the body) and the door closes up against it?
Thanks,

Also, try www.soffseal.com
It's on the body on my '34, but mine is a glass body.Last edited by roofcam; 08-05-2008 at 11:32 PM.

I purchased the trunk weather stripping from soft seal and it worked excellent. I need to get some weather stripping for my doors also because there is a gap at the bottom of both my passenger & driver's side door. I'm just waiting to see how much that gap is decreased when my interior is installed this coming Thursday. So between the interior and the custom made door sills I have I'm hoping my door gaps will be somewhat less. I need some type of stick on weather stripping for the bottoms of my doors to keep dust from entering...lots of road noise comes in since I have a roadster.

I have used the universal half round rubberstriping. It is availble from Drake and others. It has a peel off strip and the adhesive is on the flat part. I put mine on the door itself and not on the body. It works great and you can remove and add as needed.

Find a local auto body supply store and give them a visit... They have a catalog full of seals, and pictures with dimensions of the seals.... Pick out one that best fits your application... If the counter help is worth their pay check they'll be able to take a quick look at the car and show you what will work the best....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Got mine for the 57 from Steele Rubbler products. The 34 does not have weather stripping on it's doors. Never did.Last edited by mopar34; 09-19-2008 at 03:05 PM.
