How do you mount your hood on a 32 Hiboy?
I am wanting to run the hood top only on my 32. Does any one have any pictures of how they mounted this and where do you get the hardware?
Thank you,
Scott

Although I have a 1930 Ford I'm sure you can mount your hood the same way. (See photo) 2 pcs square tubing from firewall to grill shell. Then use 1/4-20 bolts through bottom lip of hood. You could probably get away using a pc of angle iron. Hope this helps.

I welded 4 spring loaded 1/4" diameter pins to the hood on the top of the inner stiffener flange on the hood sides, one for each corner. I the screwed an eye to receive the pins, two on the radiator shell and two on the inside edge of the firewall. I take the hood off by standing in front of the grill, pull out the two front pins and lift it off. Nothing fancy but quick, simple, out of sight and has been working well for the 3-4 years that my roadster has been on the road.
I split my time between Temple Terrace and San Antonio and we can prabably get together if you want to see it.

Offy, I live in Lutz, FL and would love to see this. Let me know a good weekend for you when you are in Temple Terrace or at the Dade City Criuse-in.

Moter/Mike 52-
San Antonio, FL so Austin is a no go Moter but I'll try and get some pictures. Mike, I'm sure we can get together. I plan on taking it to the Zephyrhills antique race/show this Saturday if the weather isn't inclimate as well as the Turkey Run the end of the month and probably the Dade City show the first Saturday of Dec. With gas at about $2 a gallon it's getting driven a lot more lately as it struggles to get over 10 mpg.Last edited by Offy; 11-12-2008 at 09:09 AM.

Offy, I'm not going to make the Zephryrhills festival this weekend, going to the USF Bulls game Saturday, but I will be at the Turkey Run and I can also wait until the next Dade City show. Keep an eye on your Private Messages here, I will drop you a line closer to Daytona or Dade City. Thanks

If you look at my One way to build a Hyboy, you can see how I did mine. If you are only going to run the hood it can be made much simpler. I would be happy to help you if you aren't in a hurry, I'm kind of busy

You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
