flipper, that was funny.
With your keen eye for cars, you could be a judge for NSRA.K.I.S.S.

Wow was that a brickland kit car tossed in there next to the VW's? Haven't seen one in ears." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

I thought I recognized that orange camaro. We were at the DragList Nat.s @ Eddyville Raceway Park last weekend (July30).We found a small cruise night going on Friday night at the Arnold's Motor Supply parking lot & the camaro was there. Small World.

Thank you!!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!! Great photo documentary you have done there. Exactly why most of my friends who have spent over 25 years and untold amount of money supporting NSRA events, going to many events mostly because we wanted to support a pre 49 club (business), do not attend any NSRA events anymore. Like I said in my last post. NSRA is just another fish in the great big pond of thousands of car shows we have the option to attend across the United States now. Being the big fish in the small pond was a lot nicer!!!!!!!! With all the new fiberglass reproductions cars being built and all the old real one's being rebuilt at a greater pace than ever before, there are plenty of new vehicles and people coming into the hobby to keep pre 49 car show well and prospering. I think a change to a 60 year old car or older would have been accepted rather well. But they jumped off the cliff and are on the way to a very hard crash with the new policy.

I guess we all have opinions on what is right and wrong, should be included or not. Just seems funny that we can't promote custom auto building and restoration as a whole, without dividing into clicks. I may not like Pacers but I don't criticize people who love them and spend time customizing them. I understand also clubs for specific vehicle affectionados, like corvette, or more general GMC vs. Ford, etc. So I can see people who like pre 40's vehicles supporting just that. I guess when it comes to a big organization there is always growth pains and financial issues to think about. I like car show period. Over time it gets dull seeing the same car with same setup, same aftermarket parts, and wheels, just painted different and different interiors. The last show I went to I got a kick out of all the outside the box projects and rods there. It was nice seeing something different. With almost 100 years of cars in production, we have a lot of diversity to see and enjoy!" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.

I haven't been to an NSRA event since '78. Been to a lot of car shows & cruise nights seeing a wide variety of makes, models, years. The only time I remember any year exclusions is when the promoter had a limited amount of space and had to limit car count some way & decided pre-70 would do it. Exclusion is great for everybody, but those that are excluded."PLAN" your life like you will live to 120.

Thanks Flipper for the photos and I enjoyed looking at the huge variety of cars. Absolutely neat to see a Fiat Bambina, MG's,VW's and the more modern vehicle there and worthy of you stopping and taking a photo of,thanks mate. And as for the photos of those Triumph TR6 and TR7,a big thanks as I have a friend here in NZ that owns a TR 7 with the 3.5 Rover V8 and 5 speed set up for both race and street use that goes like a startled cat.I also agree with those that enjoy a wide range of cars to look at as the work that people put into their cars is as recommendable as ones who build the pre-49 cars.I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

Actually after seeing all those great photos I came to realize there should be a show called Primer Proof! If it's wearing any, it stays OUT! HA HA HA!!!

Another opinion (mine) is that most of us like both nice early rods and nice later model cars. For the years I have attended NSRA and GoodGuys events, I havent seen a problem with a lack of cars.....in fact, it appears to me that the events are overwhelmed by cars. So, if the registrations are remaining at some high level, why would they want even more cars somewhere like Louisville? You cant take in the entire event now, so what does adding a few thousand later model cars do?
In my opinion, both late model cars and early cars are cool. And so are bikes. However, the flavor of cars changed somewhere around WWII, a tad later for come carry overs but the post war redesign that every company did changed the cars....so again, why try to crowd everything into a single show? (hint: answer has a picture of a dead president on it).
I would go to a muscle car show that prohibited pre war cars.....I would go to a pre war car show that prohibited muscle cars. What the promoters are trying to do is to cater to all....it's dead presidents motivating them.....in my opinion

Actually no.
I rode up there in a Toyota and paid $14 to get in the gate. I spent a couple of hours looking at stuff and taking pictures and then I got back in my toyota and went home.
They did not get my registration fee, "membership dues", nor T-shirt money.
My 48 sat at home.
Oh yeah, not everything was crap. There was some neat stuff to look at. Here are most of the other pics I took:

Lots of good pics, here and on the post flipper posted. I guess for some of us, we just like a large variety, where others are more specific in their tastes. Our local show seems to reflect this too, though they changed the rules for voting for cars, now each business that sponsors votes for what their favorite car is, vs. Best Truck pre 50, etc.., it's interesting how cars that wouldn't have won best in class, have a running shot at an award. Can never tell what appeals to who. I just enjoy looking, and reading the build stories some provide. If they did the work themselves, I tend to appreciate it more, than someone with deep pockets who is showing off how much money they can spend(not that that isn't o.k., just not my thing!)"
