32 High Boy front turn/park light ideas?
Hi I'm new to CHR and would like to get some advice for what I can use for front turn signals on my 32 High Boy. I want to mount some lights on the front of the shock brackets under the headlights. They could be up to 1 1/2" wide by 3 1/2" long and the bulb socket could be recessed up to 1" into the bracket. I want to use a "three wire socket" so I could have a parking light also. Thanks John Palmer

If you have removable headlamp lenses, e.g. stock '32 or '34 headlamps, take a look at hidden units that mount to the reflector. Go to www.parrautomotive.com plug in part number PRR-8150. Turns your whole headlamp into the signal lamp, but is almost invisible.
If you don't have that option you may have to fab a solution. Take a piece of lens material (amber or "white") and make it any shape you want. Fab a small box to fit inside your shock mount to hold a dual filament socket (available from any auto parts house) vertically, and to mount the lense to (through the shock tower). Use silicon gasket seal to seal the lense.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
Luck occurs when preparation and opportunity converge.

If you don't have lights already maybe you would like these.

Lash, it looks interesting, but the photo is not clear and I can't enlarge it. What did the turn signal lights come from? I found some small motorcycle running lights that I was going to wire up as turn signals but they are only single fillement and I'm still looking for double fillement. John

signal/corner lights
I don't know what style you are going for with the car, ie...hard core, rat rod, street rod, billet, nostalgia... I think that info would help tremendously.
For a hard-core, nostalgia, or rat, I like the '32 Ford commercial headlights myself. They have an extra lens built in to the top of the light housing. Some companies are making repro's of that one, or, you can hammer out a set for yourself if you have some lights to sacrifice and get rechromed.
For a smoothie billet look, use the recess you described to house a silicon plate with amber LED's from Radio Shack. Have three turn on for running lamps, and have six or more for the turn signals. Flush mount a piece of clear Lexan or clear auto lens plastic with epoxy for the lens. Since they are LED's, you will never have to be in there again anyway.
Let us know how it progresses, and post pic's of what you decide.Ensure that the path of least resistance is not you...

I wanted to complain about this NZ slang business, but I see it was resolved before it mattered. LOL..
