The Down's folks got caught in a bad situation which they had little control over. They have since regained control from Legend and are doing their very best to regain their solid reputation as car builders.
It sounds like Heritage is under new ownership and is reaching out to ensure that it's a differently run company.
I have a Downs body car however would look at all of the others, including Heritage, do your homework, and make your decision based on what you find.
