Show me rod and custom bodies
Does anyone have a body from show me rod and custom? Are they a good body?

Thats the body I will be buying in may, not that it means anything. I like the idea of bringing my frame to Doug and he builds body on my frame. Had my paint and body guy look at his bodys and he said that they require very little work for paint. Just my thoughtsSometime Kool is the Rule But Bad is Bad

I agree. Duane makes a very high quality body, and he also prefers to have your frame to build on for a zero shim install on the body. He hangs the door frames in place before bonding the outers in place to ensure the gaps are right from the start, and he includes "little" features like rubber drip seals on the glass so you don't have a 3/8" gap to fill, headliner inserts available, etc, etc. I like that he's open to questions if you get stumped and don't want to blunder when you're getting ready to take a big step in the build. Worth a look, IMO.Roger

I have a show me rod and custom roadster body. Doug is a great guy to deal with. He has been very helpful thru the entire build. No major issues..most everything fit well.. With that said..if I had to do it again, I would go steel with my next car.

Another vote for Duane at N&N, you won't find a better 'glass body anywhere, love my '32 3w.

The last one I put together from Show Me was about 5 years ago, but then they were a really first rate, well built, nice fitting body. I'd rate them and N&N right up there in quality. Not sure what body you're looking at, but you might also want to take a look at what Wescott offers--probably a few more $$$$ but they are outstanding in quality and superb in strength!!! I don't think any other company has a 'glass body on the market with the amount of internal steel structure that a Wescott body has....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Ya' know, this is a thread that 32highboy54 posted almost two years ago (March 2010) that 1bad32 brought back to life yesterday. 32highboy54's more recent posts seem to point to him working on a project (cutting the dash, working on a tranny, etc), so I'd bet that he made his choice on a body long ago and is well past that question now. It's not a problem in any way, just pointing out that we may be giving comments to an out of date question Maybe 32highboy54 can post his status and bring us all up to dateRoger

Does N&N offer exposed door hinges, cowl, non-flat firewall, and push out windshield? Body looks good indeed but the aforementioned (well maybe I can budge on the lack of a cowl), kill the deal for me.

If I remember correctly from doing the research for my '32 coupe body (I chose an N&N) , Wescott is going to be your best source for the features you are requiring and it's going to cost you $$$$, they do make one of the finest fiberglass reproduction bodies though, lots of steel reinforcement.
