New chassis/body with old VIN# and orig. title, DMV registration question

I'm working towards the day that I can drive my new High Boy and anticipate the coming DMV registration hassell. Basically, I have an original 1932 Ford roadster title and Bill of Sale for the same car. When my new chassis was built the VIN# was stamped to match this original title. I really want this to be registered as a 1932 car so I can do the California DMV "Year of Manufacture" program with original 1932 plates. What advice can anyone that has gone this route give to me. I'm also interested in any advice about a removable windshield wiper/motor or other safety items I will need to pass the registration. I already have a neutral safety switch, four way flashers, etc. How about the Lobeck's license plate light? Will it fit and still allow a large "vintage type" license plate to be body mounted? Thanks John Palmer

In California, all you have to do is find a person who is a state licensed vehicle verifyer.
I used to be one there.
Thats right, he can verify for the state your VIN, year etc.
When you take you paperwork to the DMV there are NO questions.
Just realize that the people at the DMV window are not the sharpest knives in the drawer. They do not knbow the law (ie. they have not read the California Vehicle Code), Like I had.
You can usually find one of these type guys at a car dealership. Of course they will want a couple of bucks to touch your car, but hey, thats the way life is.
I do not know anyone right now who is one. I am elsewhere.
    Good luck.

    Thumbs up

I own a 1932 ford three window coupe (steel body) and live in Ontario, Canada. I purchased the vehicle from Pennsylvainia without a title. All I had to do up here was go into our Motor Vehicle Office with an affidavid from a lawyer and a picture of the car that stated the following: Serial Number (which I made up because the car was missing a firewall), engine size, two or four door and a body color. That was it. I now have an official green ownership (Ontario's version of a title) for a 1932 ford 3 window coupe. That easy.
