As you're looking at your column layout look closely at the relationship of the bottom of the column and the connecting U-Joint to the engine, and especially to the plugs. I cut the hole in the firewall, and once everything was in place that top U-Joint is so close to my LR plug that I have to use a cut down socket that has a hex cut on top to access that one. Dropping the column 1/4" more would have eliminated that problem. In fact, I may pull the column one of these days, shift it down a smidgen and do a bit of glass work to fill the holes. Another tip that I got from the guys at N&N was to use a cheap chrome exhaust tip extension mounted to the firewall to catch and anchor the bottom of the column - the rolled end acts as a stop, and with a couple of tabs welded on the top end at the proper angle you can bolt it to the firewall with SS button heads and it's a clean look for your column end. Just some details to consider.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.
