Both excellent photo's guys. Tech I see you live in Palm Springs CA., I read in our NZ Herald news paper this morning about the wild fires north of SF and wondered if you are near there or why isn't it raining up there where it is really needed. The weather is something that the poor old human being just can't control.
I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

The valley where I live is ringed by the San Jacinto mountain range and we are able to watch fires up in the mountains from here. Last year, we had 3 of them going at one time. Some folks think it's the militant muslims starting them, just to cost us Americans money. On the left side of the photo above, just down from the top, you can just make out the ridge of the mountain range. We have little earthquake tremors daily. Had a nice little 3.1 jolt on Sunday. We're only about 40 miles from the fault line where the plates rub together and you can hear the quakes coming across the mountain range before you feel them. Sounds like a big whoosh of wind. I'm actually living in Hemet, about 60 miles west of Palm Springs.

Thanks , I did the Goggle Earth thingy and had a look see at Hemet. Over the hill from Palm Springs and not quite a suburb of LA city. What sort of driving time from your place into the big smoke, 2 to 3 hours ? Those bush fires must be the scarest thing to have in your neighbour-hood as they are so distructive with absolutely no warning and although homes etc can be rebuild it is all the small items etc that one accumulates throughout ones life time that is so difficult to replace or recover from the lose of.
