Just discovered this thread and I'll be watching. I just put a deposit on a Deuce frame at Clarke Hot Rods in Ormond Beach; I'll get delivery in 6 - 8 weeks. Mine will be a budget build, too. I've built 20+ frames since 1968, some bare frames and some complete rollers, but this will be my first Deuce.Jim

Up date --- Chassis will B here by the weekend, still gathering parts, but shouldn't take long once I get goin. Tim (my trimmer) wants to drive it to Bowling Green Ky Hot Rod reunion in June. That ain't gonna be a problem, he'll probably have 2/3000 miles on it by June. When I get to where I was goin, I forgot why I went there>

Update, Got the chassis last Friday.
Have fit the body, started the body work, will set engine and trans 2day, then fit hood and grille also.
Repaired a large dent in a donated gas tank.
All parts are now in house.
Also have got steering mocked up, headlight stands made.
Will blow apart and start the paint process 2morrow
Shootin to have it ready to "wire and fire" by the 3rd 4th week of February. Then Tim can do his magic on the guts.
Colors will be -- Satin black from the body down, with the body hood (top only) and grille a deep maroonWhen I get to where I was goin, I forgot why I went there>

No shitting around in your work shop. Heck even the odd fly wouldn't have time to settle on a piece of the '32. Cool watching it come together thanks Don. Will the engine remain a reasonably stock with a 4 barrel ?I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

Thanx Mark.
Nope on the engine, kinda gonna be a sleeper. Has all the right parts inside, with worked aluminum heads, roller cam and rockers. Tim's engine guy says should be an honest 360/375 Hp. Plenty for a 2200 lb car. Runnin 3:00 gears in the pig so outta be a lot of fun on the open road. When I get to where I was goin, I forgot why I went there>

Have you used any bodies from BeBops? If so, what do you think of them? I can't afford a steel body and here in Florida 'glass may be a better option anyway (On a quiet night you can hear steel rust!).Jim

I've seen BeBops bodies, and I won't knock them. However, if I were starting over, this is where I would go.

Thanks, Henry (Jack). I was not aware of that company. I will check out their stuff before I buy. I also recently discovered Russ Nomore bodies in northern Louisiana. I'm a couple of months away from getting a body, so I have time to research and compare.Jim

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.
Merry Christmas ya'll
