    C.W. Moss

Just wanted to share a recent experience with Moss. I wanted new lower stations for my 32 Roadster. I looked at various providers, Speedway, So Cal, Roadster shop, Moss, and others. I decided on Vintique Chrome ones # B37132. I paid $139.00 which was more than ones from other providers but that is what I had on the car. I received the Stanchions in a few days and noticed that box showed a Vintique B37132 S sticker but under the Vintique sticker is Speedway part # 911-33102-chr. which Speedway lists these for $84.00. Item came with studs while Vintique comes with bolts and the chroming is different. I sent emails to Moss about this and received no replies. I did mount the stanchions, the angle is different on the post and the distance from the top of the Stanchion to the other side is 3/4 on inch wider than my existing. Add the upper stanchions and the distance is even greater. The Bop Top won't line up. I know there is a certain amount of adjustment required, but that's why I wanted the same brand. My mistake and I will eat the money, what gets me is the repackaging of the box to show that is Vintique when it's not. These stanchions list from $84.00 to $99.00 for the same item I paid $40.00 more.

Today 1-24-2023 I got a call from Mitch at CW Moss about the issue. We discussed the issue and he offered a full refund on the item. I told him I had drilled the stanchions for stops before mounting and didn't feel it was fair to return them and that in my frustration I had disposed of them. Mitch was going to check further on his end and make any corrections necessary and I considered the matter closed.
Later today I received an Email from Kelly at CW Moss advising of a full refund.

I've seen that a lot. And I think it is worse these days "Post Covid" and supply issues. I had ordered some new door handle with the locks and after they arrived I saw the same thing as you. Someone else's sticker over a different vendor label. I was able to send them back as they were supposed to be keyed the same and they weren't. But I am sure they are all coming out of china..

I don't understand how companies think that we are that dumb. Sure they made an extra buck on you but I wonder how many sales they will lose because this kind of info spreads fast.

I've been playing the return game on a few parts for the 40. It sure will make building anything older a huge issue if these parts issues continue to get worse. At least Moss refunded your money. That is better than nothing.
