The bypass on the south side of town, I kind of like the packing house road, too. Traction is a bit low on the old road, though. Other than that, next track I want to make a pass on is Bonneville.

Man, I got to ask...How the heck did a circle burner track in Michigan get the name of Dixie??? Is the owner a bit misplaced or something???? Just wondering.

Well I retired from drivin, but stiil involved with a midget & sprint team, around here we got Gateway Int. if ya wanna go in a straight line (only been there twice for the Gateway Nationals,Gotta love them Nitro cars ) Then we got Kenny Shraders I-55 speedway better known as Pevely, we got Bellclair speedway, Belleville Ill. 1/8 high bank dirt, we got Kevin Gundakers Tri City Speedway, better known as Granite, granite City Ill. 1/2 mile flat dirt with a 1/4 mile semi banked inside it, then we got Motgomery County Speedway,Mo. 1/4 super high bank dirt, then Lake of the Ozarks speedway, we got St Francois county speedway better known as Farmington,(Mo.) 3/8 semi bank dirt, then Godfrey Ill.1/4 ? bank dirt, these are all within an hours drive of the house with the exception of Lake of the Ozarks wich is about a 2 hour run, Lets see, others within the 2 hour drive all in Ill. are Lincoln, Macon 1/8 bank, Jacksonville,Farmer City,Canton better known as Spoon River 3/8 high bank dirt,Highland. I know I gotta be forgetting some but we got a lot of tracks around here, only asphalt track is Gateway never figured that out because the areas premier track for years was a 3/8 high bank asphalt called Lake Hill Speedway(closed in 1980) God I miss that joint, had the privelege of winning a bunch of races there... It also was the starting point for Kenny Shrader, Rusty,Mike & Kenny Wallace, Was a frequent stop for Larry Phillips & Dick Trickle, Bobby Allison even showed up a couple times.....
