    Pictures of my old sleeper

My daughter was digging through some photos today and came across some pictures of my good old '68 Biscyane. 427/425 hp, 4 speed, 4.10 gears, heavy duty suspension. My first fast street car. 13 flat was pretty quick for a daily driver in 1971. It was my only car, drove it to work every day, drove it to the track with the slicks in the trunk. Nice big trunk too. My best time was a 13.03 at 108. If I had just learned to drive it a little better I believe it was an easy 12.80 car. I was afraid to leave too hard for fear of breaking it. Usually did 4000 rpm starts with 6500 shifts, went through the lights at the very top of 3rd gear.

The car sure was fun on the street, I looked like I was 15 driving daddy's fleet car.

I think Henry Rifle and Dave Severson might recognize Cornhusker Raceway Park

Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!

Rich? Hardly, I was an Air Force E-4, working full time for the AF and part time for Brandeis Tire center in orer to afford gas and parts! The slicks and wheels came as a set from a swap meet I think, they were just the right offset and size to fit in the wheel well, I had to be careful going around corners to keep them from rubbing, had to bend the inner fender lip up a bit too.

    AAAHHHH memories

I've always had a soft spot for the Plain Jane 2dr post cars. I built a 65 Biscayne car a few years back, warmed over dual quad 350/4 speed. Just had a ball with it preying on the unsuspecting.

I get a feeling your would have hurt my feelings pretty bad though. Neat car.

    Cool way cool

Hey Stu, I remember those days. Back then we probably didn't respect a BIS much, but looking at those pics now and a 427? Man, that car looks as good to me now as Raquel Welch did then. Best year of the biscyane.

The car was good for a lot of surprised looks for sure. There were a few cars I had to respect, but not many. There was a 70 LS6 Chevelle, a 69 428 Cobrajet and '69 COPO Chevelle that ran around town that were all tough. Those were fun times, I feel fortunate to have been there.
