what might my time be in a 71 two door nova with 383 525hp - 535trq ?

i way about 200 pounds and i don't know what 71 novas generaly weigh

could any one tell me?

youre leaving out way too many variables. trans? converter? rear gear? how youre gonna make it hook? weight would depend on if its a stripped racecar or fully equipped street car? post some more info and im sure someone can get a close guesstimate

Assuming it's a street runner, but you do have a good rear suspension and reasonably good slicks, probably high elevens @ 110 mph.

First time out and if you're inexperienced at drag racing, don't be disappointed to find you're only running a little over one hundred mph with a high 12, low 13 second ET.

Get things squared away and the combo indicates 11.10 @ 118 mph.

That's assuming a 3800# car including the driver.

Pull 400# out of the car and you're running mid 10's @ 125 mph.

All of which ain't bragging points until you do it....

My 72 Nova weighs 3380 without me in it. (3620 with me)
It's all steel except for a fiberglass hood.
406 small block with about 450-460 hp
Turbo 400, 3200 stall
12 bolt, 4.11 posi
Steel wheels with BFG Drag Radials
complete 2.5 exhaust
Air Conditioning (it works)
Complete interior
full tank of gas (less about a gallon)
Manual steering

The car does not have a cage in it at this time.

Like Malibufreak says there are so many variables probably most important would be how the car launches, your gearing, track and weather conditions. If you have that much horsepower and torque and it hooks I would think it should be in the 10's if the weight is similar to my Nova.

OK but i have a question, never been to a track, none close to me. till now. i am going to take my 55 210 chevy in jan. It is all stock body, weights 3200 with half tank of gas plus 200 for me (3400 lbs) 3.55 gear muncie 4 speed (low geared). stock 283/stock steel crank/ 480/480 hyd cam open headers holley intake edelbrok carb/ accel elec ignition,,,,makes good power up to 7000 rpm. Doesn't spin at all off the line, has a homeaide traction bar from the bottom of the leaf spring welded to the frame about 2foot long. 300 HP according to dyno 2000.

any guesses

i cant see a .480 hyd cam making good power to 7000. what heads? i dunno if that 300hp is very accurate.

Thought I had that in there, the heads are 305 truck heads completely reworked and shaved. Not sure what the CR is with those heads, it will run on any gas 87 to AV.
