ive heard good things about the bf drag radials, but this car is driven at least 4 times a week on the streets too. Can the drag radials be used on street regularly too? I thought they were just to get to the track and back. A friend told me to try the Nitto 555r tires too. They are drag racing soft compound tires that also give about 15,000 miles of street use too. What would be the best choice?!Supernova!

Hey Pat, do you know what the speed rating would be on the BF drag radials??? How bad do they heat up on the highway??? I live in a small town in the sticks, 50 mile drive for decent cruising, curious how they might do...... ThanksYesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Thanks for the information, Pat. I know they hook fairly well for a street tire, was just curious about their down the highway capabilities. Appreciate the help.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

I'm thinkin you should into the 13's as is.
What RPM does the motor quit pulling?
What RPM do you shift at?

I thought the same thing. I was expecting to be in the high 13's but there are some factors to consider. Im running on radial tires, i do have tire spin on launch, and most of all, in hell paso, texas, the elevation is a whopping 3800 feet. When pluggin in my best time of 14.45 to a sea level corrected time, she will run 13.7's. The power curve is set to max out about 5500 rpm, and im shiftin just short of that around 5300-5400rpm. Im sure if i put some drag radials and put her on a diet droppin a couple hundred lbs, i'd could pull a 13.9. What do YOU think?!Supernova!

Just try not to spin the tires on the line, you'll be faster making a conservative start than launching hard and spinning the tires some. The first 60' are the most important of the quarter. A top fuel car can run full throttle for the first 60', then let off the gas and still run a 10.something at 70 something mph.

very true. Ill monkey around with different rpm launches and see what i can pull off. Thanks for the advice!Supernova!
