I like apples and the comparision is good haha. That diesel dragster is really impressive.
All I'm saying is ...if you race against diesel trucks you better be ready. Some of these guys can really get with the program. Keep in mind most of these are fully streetable and capable of pulling a big trailer a lot of miles and get good mileage too..
Personally I don't race my truck nor do I do truck pulls. I don't particularly see the point of racing trucks. They really are for hauling. Don't get me wrong I think it is impressive drag racing them but for the $$$ you can get a lot faster gasser (yuck) and use the truck for reliable hauling. I get 20+ cruising all the time and have got 17 pulling 8000 pounds (weighed it) That makes 15,000+ gvw. (light weight for a diesel) If the gasser can pull it, it will be sucking hind wind while it sucks then it will die a martyrs' death. The bad part about gasser towing is they need to carry 3 times as much fuel.
gimme some more apples. haha make them Delicious too
btw we pulled a 5er and funny car with a 454 gm crew cab before diesels were invented. It never saw the + side of 6mpg towing nor the + side of 10 without the trailer. The motor lasted 50k and clutch lasted 25k dana 70 lasted 70k. Almost as bad as a 460.41 Willys 350 sbc 6-71 blower t350, 9in, 4 link
