care to guess?
Ok I know it would be totally a guess (or maybe not if someone can do the math) but I am wanting to know how much gain I could get (hypothetically of course) by switching rear ends. I am currently running about 300hp through a turbo 350 tranny with a 2.73 rear. the truck weighs approx. 3000 lbs. If I am getting low nines in the eighth now, what, hypothetically again, could I expect to get with a 4.10??. Assuming perfect lauch and no tire slippage. Would anybody be willing to take a guess? Would High sevens be hoping for too much.
Any thoughts will be appreciated

all things being perfect, 300hp in a 3000 pound car best would be 13.20's by my programYesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

There are a lot of variables with just this one change. Posi? Tire diameter? Camshaft/redline? A 4.10 could make you spin off the line where a 2.73 might not. Also, if the cam is stock, you might run out of rpm's even in the 1/8th. Generally, 9 flat is approx. 14 flat in the 1/4. I wouldn't expect more than .5 sec at best assuming traction and everything else stayed constant."It may be ugly, but it's SLOW!"

Well again, all things being perfect this would be an 8.67 at 79 mph eighth. Lots of variables to change it a tenth or two, but this would be ball park.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
