How much power
I am currently putting together a 406 and would like to get an approximate amount of HP I will have. The following is what I have.....
MDS ignition
Duel feed Holly 750 carb
Team G Intake
Brodix Track 1 heads (222cc runners, 68cc combust, 2.10/1.6)
Crane Gold roller rockers with girdle
Forged steel 4340 Eagle crank
Eagle H Beam rods
Mahle 13-1 11cc dome pistons
630 lift mechanical roller cam
Lower end all ballanced.
Any information would be appreciated. It has cost me a lot of $$ and I am anxious to see what it would do. I can't wait to get her on the track but it will be a while from now as I am making mods to the 82 camaro.
Thanks,
Scott

This is the only piece I have not bought yet. I was going by some recomendations made by a good friend of mine. Thanks for your help.

Hi there! what I came up with is 692fpt at 6250, 905 hp at 7250rpm. I use 110 lobe sep. and 110 oct. fuel. duel plain intake.
Have fun.

psychoward,
What did you use to figure this out? Seems extremely high or else i have some serious chasis and cage work to do. I was only expecting around 600 or so but it was just a uneducated guess.
Thanks,

Guess Not.
I will have her ready by fall/winter. I guess the track will have to tell. I will post results.

I get 575 HP at 6,000 rpm, 560 lb-ft torque at 4500 rpm with high flow single plane manifold.

With the compression ratio and heads, with that induction package and a cam that will obviously work in the high rpm band I am picking this is a circle track motor, so probably around 520 to 535 HP. Oh nd with that roller cam and that much lift your spring pressure had better be a minimum of 200 Lbs seat pressure and run a rev kit as well to keep those rollers on the cam lobe at all times."aerodynamics are for people who cant build engines"

That sounds an awful lot like my old set-up. If I remember right the dyno numbers came in real close to what Kitz said.Mike Casella

Thanks to all for your input. I was hoping to have between 550 and 600hp so your estimates are close to my goal. I will post my track dyno results when that ever so elusive time comes.
Thx
Thanks guys! One more trip around the sun completed. Lots of blessings and things to be thankful for (like still being able to type this message!!) Here's to us "over 70 guys.." Glenn
