i'll be going for 12.40's or better!
well the tranny is being rebuilt the converter is ready to go <new> and a tranny cooler is on the way. this car has an 11 in it. but right now ill be going for 12.40's or better. considering how shot my msd box and <rusty yes rusty> my pick up is inside my distributor is i am doing damn good i thought about just getting a new pick-up nd replacing it instead of the whole distributor, hey the pick up is only 20 bucks in jegs. next year <before i go to school> i wanna pop off an 11. whats funny is the way this car launches <it needs slicks bad!> it'll run a 13.0 at 108 and it runs 12.60's at 108 and it ran a 13.20 last year at 108 i just wish my et's were as conisistent as the mph! i still need to get rip of the top end shaking. i have noticed at the track alot of the cars shake once there up to speed. its probably just tire balance. what do you guys think? the front end is fresh aligned shocks are still new someone mentioned pinion angle? im not a suspension person lol. wow that was quite the ramble if i could be that productive during the day id be rich .....scooter

Sounds like you are drivin'!! Can you define the shake better for us? Do you feel it in the wheel or in the seat of your pants? Did it shake before and after the front end work and the alignment? Do you know how much caster they used in the alignment settings? Are all your tires balanced? Is the shake at a set speed, does it get worse as you go faster? How fresh are the U-joints?
PatOf course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!

u joints are still fresh the shake is like tire balance. ive only got the inside's of the back tires balanced and that cut the vibration in half. but a few people out there dont run balaned tires and wheels and said it might be pinion angle some said rearend alingment. and no only the insides of my back tires are balanced. ive been meaning to get the outside's also everybody is like <it'll look ugly> if it'll handle better dont give a rats a**. and yes you can feel it int he wheel and it gets worse once your up to speed probably about 70-80+ no speedo yet. also when we dropped the tranny the u joint golts were loose and the tranny mount wasnt even bolted tot he tranny so theres 2 things that could'lve been causing it process of elimination i guess!Last edited by gassersrule_196; 08-30-2006 at 03:38 PM.

THE TRANNY IS IN! going to get some new fittings tomorrow for the tranny cooler <the b&m takes bigger ones.> i figured a place to put the cooler at. same place just! upside down so the cooling fins are outside the car with a 3-4 inch wide by 6 inch long hole cut right now to the fan for some fresh air circulation. so ill most lilkely order a new pick up <19.99 in jegs> for the distributor put that in drop the distributor in the hole fire it up time it mess witht he air bleeds and go! ive got a grudge match sept 30th with a 1970 buick GS 455 4 speed, so that'll be interesting. <btw his best time is 12.79>
