    Question Sway bars and slide-a-links

I have heard from several people that when you put a set of Competition Engineering slide-a-links on your car you should unbolt the sway bar. Is this true, will they work against each other or will one not effect the other. I have an 81 Trans Am that has both on it currently. The car will see some track time, but mostly will be driven on the street.

Their instructions don't address the sway bar.

    I'd call their tech department.

they make a removable end link kit, so you can quickly and easily disconnect the sway bar at the strip. if your not running faster than 12.00 dont worry about it. i ran an 80 z28 11.90's and as long as the track was decent and the slicks were good, it made no difference with the sway bar hooked up, but when i had traction probmems on cold days, disconnecting the sway bar helped the launch a bit.

if you leave the sway bar hooked up then it would defeat the purpose of the the Slide-A-Link. you need to work each wheel independent of the other.
