Anybody go to the CHRR?
It got no play in the events forum so I was wondering if anyone else here went to the California Hot Rod Reunion last weekend at Famoso? It was a great show with lots of old school cars that are way nicer and faster than they ever were back in the day. T/F was full of five second passes but oiled down the track a lot. Lots of trailer queen gassers that I wouild like to see run but still plenty that did. All in all great event and scored some 15 X 14 centerlines w/ goodyear 33 X 16 slicks for the 40 dodge.

I'm not really a west coaster, but I was there as usual Had a great time!
A bunch of the Utah guys go every year. This year the Utah top fuel cars
(Brett Harris and Scott Mason) didn't do so good, both going out in first round, although Jack harris went to the top fuel final as a hired driver.
Did you go to the friday night party? This year they fired up the "Hawaiian" and "L.A. Charger" funny cars and the "kansas" John Weibe fuel dragster at the hotel. Nitro fumes cleared out a lot of people!
Anybody that doesn't go to the CHRR misses one of the best events of the year.

Glad to see someone else on here went Mick. I didnt go to any party's. I went down for the day on Friday and ended up staying in a motel in Delano until Sunday. I went mainly for the swap meet and since more kept coming in I stayed to watch saturday. I wish they would have ran the dual engine dragster that was behind the main grandstands but only started it as its not quite done yet. Did you check out Lazzes metal working booth. He had an aluminum willys bodied car out front. Got some one on one with him on friday. Guys a great sheet metal worker.

Frank, Jack Harris is a member of our car club (Stags of Ogden, Utah) and is just an all around great guy! Our club is celebrating its 50th year in 2007 and has a display in the NHRA museum in pomona, take a look next time you're down there.
Brett Harris (Jack's son) is the 2006 and probably last VRA top fuel champion as well.
