I did however like the Penthouse car and the women they had in the pits for 2 races before the NHRA told him he could no longer have that sponser

It's professional drag racing and it's very expensive. If someone has to get "used" a bit to bankroll a new team, so be it. We're talking 300mph funny cars, not women's rights!!!! Ok Dave, lets just ask for the sake of discussion here, lets say this weekend she scraps another body or sends some more cones into orbit? What then?

At what point does the NHRA step in suggest she try the alky funny's for a while?

Does anyone remember the NHRA parking someone before for being a little skittish on the track?

For the record I think she'll do fine. I may even pick up one of her T-shirts and if she wins this weekend I'll send it to Dave.

I don't recall NHRA ever revoking a top fuel license for other then drunk in the pits or something stupid like that.... She will without a doubt make many, many more passes in a squirrely car and probably pound out a few more cones, too. Heck, I took out some cones in a Super Gas car, stuff happens!!!! If they start sending drivers back to an alky car cuz they get a bit skittish on the track, sure will get easier to make the field!!!!! At this point in her rookie season, I don't see where she is actually doing any better or worse then most rookies do in their first year... Let's see, they want from Seattle to Sonoma this week, betcha Dad had her on a track someplace making some more passes this week!!!! I seriously doubt pulling her license was or will be even a consideration with NHRA.....nor do I see any reason it should be..... As I've said before, if she wasn't John's kid none of this would even have been noticed or talked about. Whether it's her or someone else, I sure do like to see new blood moving into the top fuel ranks!!!! Sure does keep the old dudes on their toes!!!!

I wonder what the most upsetting part of Ashley driving a funny car is too most folks. The fact that she's John's daughter, the fact that she's a woman, or just plain old jealousy cuz she has an opportunity to do what the rest of us can only dream about doing?????

I have worked for a fuel team for a few years......you would not believe some of the things that happen in the pits between drivers and crew and the NHRA has turned a blind eye when they can. I dont see them taking her booting her back to Alky or any place else

I think jealousy is the operative word here.

IMO, I dont think its jealousy I think It could be that she could hurt herself or someone else with out proper experience. I think every one should be amazed a chick can do it! I also do think there is a difference in wanting to learn and having to learn.

I think of it more as 'what if' theoretical conversation.

And who are 'they' and 'all those' who call for her sure failure? I dont see or hear them. whomever they are.

I wonder if guilt feelings towards women may be the operative words here.

Yup, just a poor, helpless little girl that was very competitive in top alcohol and now has one of the best crews and some of the best equipment available for her use and does 300+ mph passes in a funny car!!!!

Heck yes I'm jealous!!!! Maybe if I wasn't so old and ugly I could get hooked up with one of them Force girls and have me a ride just like Robert Hight!!!!! Don't understand why you younger guys are hanging around here and not down the flower shop sending them girls flowers and trying to get a date!!!!

Acutally, guess I'd try to convince my future Father in law that it was time for a Top Fuel Dragster, them funny cars scare the heck out of me!!! When them big KA-BOOMS and fireballs happen, I'd prefer it was behind me!!!!!

On second thought, Mr. Force, if you're reading this you could buy me a new Top Alcohol Dragster and I'd promise to stay away from your daughters forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
