Drag racing history buff update!!!!
Hi gang.
Last year we put up a post titled "For front engine dragster lovers" with a link to the site as it was then.
Since then the owners of the site and the man behind all the posting of the neat old pictures had a falling out. The new site is www.wediditforlove.com A portion of this site is still free to give you a taste of what's there, otherwise it is now a subscription site. They have a good explanation for why on the site.
For you funny car lovers, especially for 1965 to 1975, there is another site www.mysterion.net/funnys it's all free and loaded with pictures. Some really neat stuff there.
Enjoy!!Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Thats really too bad that this happened, but it looks like its happening to so many other sites also. For the price of membership at < $60 bucks/year, its well worth the price of admission for sure.

Neat site, Bob, they also have a great collection of "Fuel Altereds"(AA/FA) which I think produced some of the most exciting racing at the tracks back then. There was nothing like seeing a short wheel base Fiat with a 1000+ hp, blown Hemi doing a 160+mph in under 10 seconds, awsome sounds to boot!!
Hows Vegas?? We just had SNOW here of all things.

Hey Larry,
SNOW?!!!! We had a quick two day temp drop here end of last week, highs dropped down to mid 50's Nice thing about that is it gave the NASCAR boys some cooler air. We're back to highs in the 70's again though.
Bandwidth ain't cheap and it do take time to keep one of these sites going. I admire folks like Brent who take on the responsibility of starting and mastering a web site so the rest of us can enjoy it.
The altereds were a kick in the butt, sometimes literally! Nothing like a way overpowered, short wheelbase, nitro burning monster. These sites have several links that are a kick. I hope anyone who takes the links here will also take the links from these sites; memories abound!
I hope you guys are getting all the last of winter's unpleasantries out of the way while I'm gone. When I get back end of next week I want more sunshine (please??!!) It would be especially nice for the 16th when our Cobra group gathers.

Cool site, too bad I can't see the rest but I can remember a few passes. A few years back my brother and Jack Clark came by the house and Jack had transferred a lot of old film to videocassette. We sat and watched the history of Northwest dragracing as well as a lot of the California scene too. Last I heard Jack had passed away and Jack Cross of the old Haines and Cross Cal Equip car had the video and then some. Infortunately he passed away too and we are still looking for the film.sixty clicks West of Chu Lai

Uncle Bob, I realize this thread is 2 years old, but I just found it. What a collection of photos. I'm sure I found myself in the pit stands at Lion's in some of them. Thanks for the info on such a great site.Ken Thomas
