One quick pass followed by parts failure in the next won't get you to go a lot of rounds and going rounds is what it's all about. Racing on a budget is fine, we all do it to a varying extent.... My suggestion to anyone starting out drag racing would be to put a very conservative big block with a glide in the lightest car you can find, drive it off the converter and concentrate on consistency. Once you get all this dialed in, then speed the car up and start experimenting with different combinations.....
