363 or 383
Hi I currently own 363 Chev gone 10.18@ 131 mph. It has offset cast 350 crank, 6' alloy rods, 12.4:1 comp SRP.
Brodix heads Track1 flowing 278@650 lift and 218@650 on the Ex, comp cam 12-940-9 Hyd Roller, super victor manifold, Barry Grant carb 975.
Where can I chase more power?
Looking at purchasing Callies 3.562 compstar, Bill miller 6' and keeping my pistons. Is there anything I should Know in regards to this combo?
Or should I be chasing a bigger stroke or lighter bottom end?

If you are running a cast crank that hard. You might want to update that before it finds its own way to come out of the block. I think I would look at your tire size and tranny and converter choices 1st. In the 1/4 a 26 inch tall tire is too small for what you are doing. What kind or RPM'S are you hitting at the stripes ?
The powerglide is at its maximum wieght limit and underpowered in a 2520 pound car and also the converter you are using is way underpowered from your motors output power.
Do you have the 2 or 4 door car? very cool looking car. If you could please post a pic of what you have we would love to see it. Also very important, what cylinder heads are you running?Last edited by mooneye777; 06-28-2008 at 06:10 AM.

Thanks for your time to look at my situation mooneye.
I am running bridix track 1 heads.
finish line revs 7 500 to 7 600 rpms
I don't have any pics of car and car is in bits but as time goes by I will post pics up. Car is a 4 door in red.
What my main concern is when I spend money I'd like to get my moneys worth that's why I'm querying the above bottom end combo.
The advice I'm getting around here is forcing me towards a larger stroke but I think that the lighter the bottom end combo the quicker the power gets forced through to the tyres.
I need more poeoples experience to point me in the right direction.

Get the best of both worlds, go with a stroker, 6" rods, and a lightweight crankshaft... Crower, Callies, and a number of other companies make the lightweight cranks.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
