Going Faster 2
In my previous thread we discussed the difference between getting a heavy 55 Chevy to go faster, or just going with a lighter car. I asked you guys to talk me out of it, but you let me down. So I have made arrangements to buy a nostalgia 196" dragster. It's a roller set up for SBC and shorty glide. I just happen to have a powerglide and 283 block in my garage. I know, 283? But we are only trying to make 9.6 for the N.E.III class.
Anyway, plenty of time for planning, as we won't take delivery until March. In the meantime, lots of bracket racing in the 55.
We are thinking alcohol injection motor, but that is new territory for me. A 283 would be fun to experiment with, since I already have one, minus heads. Would not the same heads work 283 - 350? That way I could play with the 283 and change over later.
Chime in guys. Rad

I don't have any knowledge in the drag racing field, but a friend of mine had a 283 buick turbocharged, that made one little vega run like a cat with it's tail on fire! Heard good things about those little v-8s. It was one of the best little sleeper vehicles I'd ever seen !" "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.
Folks would walk into my shop and say what happened now? I'd reply, "I put it together just to take it apart - to put it together.. just to take it apart!" It seems like a never-ending process...
