Billetproof Drags 2009. Lots of pictures.
My Son Dan and I went to the Billetproof Drags in Lakeland, Florida this weekend. Had a blast , saw some old friends and swapped some lies. I didn't run my car because I didn't get a seat belt installed before we left, but it was fun watching everyone else have fun.
I'll have to post these in lots of posts because of the limit restrictions on here, but I hope you enjoy them.

That's pretty much it. BTW, the couple in the picture below (guy with the checkerboard shirt and lady with the camera) had never been to drag races before. Dan and I got lost on the way to the hotel and they were at a gas station and gave us directions. We told them about the races, and they showed up on Sunday. They loved it and every time I saw her she was snapping pictures. A very nice couple and I'm glad they had such a great time.

Thanks for the pics, Don!!! Some neat stuff there, especially that red Willys!!! Did you happen to catch what he ran??? I see that paired him up with the C/Gas '55, who won???Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Dave, I don't remember their times, but they both flat out screamed. The 55 got the Willys in one run I remember, but don't recall if they had a rematch and what happened. I know the 55 is running a 383 stroker because we chatted with him for a while. He said "it's fast" and he wasn't kidding.
The 40 Ford with the red headlights also was a real shocker. It flew. There were so many really neat cars there it was tough to pick any that were any better than the others. Glenn and Rooster Dave were going at it all day in their coupes and I think both of them were keeping what they had actually done to their engines a secret from each other. Both cars were very impressive.
