Feeling pretty lucky
Went to test and tune in sac last night to see if I could get my car to run NE1 for the Hot Rod Reunion and to get dialed in for a 8.0 class in 2 weeks. On my second run the car left really good but was all over the track the whole way down and it is usually straight as an arrow. This was only my 12th run in the car and only my 5th pass full throttle. Here is the pass. I ran a 8.15 at 167.

In the shut down area the car almost put me in the wall and I could see my front right tire was not straight. So after I finally stop this is what I find.
When I touched the tire this is what happened.
A quick inspection showed a old crack in the bottom that finally let loose because I lifted the front end off the track on that run and I guess broke then. Was quite a ride but happy I didn't get hurt.
Next question is where to get a new front end for this? I looked online already and I have not been able to find one for my spindles.

Wow that musta been quite a ride Lucky that wheel didn't come off altogether. Glad you came out ok. I don't know where to find those dragster parts but you might find something at Summit or Jeg's.

Bad design. You should/need to inspect every inch of that car. Is that crossbar 2 different pieces or 1? That bar also looks small. Check here Dave Tuttle should be able to get you going.

You are extremely lucky you weren't seriously hurt, or worse. That is downright scary. Whose chassis it that? A lot of these use Anglia spindles, but not sure if that is what you have. As Bigtruckdriver said, I would take a very close look at the rest of the car, and if you feel the need, have an experienced race car builder check it too.

LOL That is the first thing I said, "I need to buy a lotto ticket".
It is a one piece tube axle that has 2 plates welded to it that bolt to the frame. It broke on the outside of the weld.
A "skip" = a dumpster.... but he says it's proper english??? Oh.. Okay. Most of us can see the dating site pun, "matching" with an arsonist.. But a "SKIP? How is that a box? It must all be...
