Yeah, that wasn't really a fair matchup, his car was full size and heavy, but there was no real racing at this event, just a bunch of guys who normally wouldn't get to run taking a stab at it. The one car that I got smoked by was a Cuda running slicks and in race trim. I looked at time slip and I ran a slow 8.596 to his 8.134. He launched better than me and I could never catch him but I think I got scared when I saw him pulling away and didn't stay in first long enough to make second gear effective. My Speed was way down that run, only going 83.46 to his 91.98.
The reason I quit after 6 runs was that I didn't want to push my luck and hurt anything, I would still like to have this car to drive around in.I floated the valves on one run and it didn't feel as strong then next run. I think my 6 pounds of fuel pressure is ok on the street but felt I was running out of gas at the end of the strip. When I would slow down at the turn off road my rpms would drop from 1200 at idle to about 600, then slowly recover (as the fuel pressure maybe came back)
I think I am going to look at that 355 Camaro motor I have laying in the shop, plus I have a stick of 2 x 3 box tubing, and some misc parts.....................................

Sorry for your loss of friend Mike McGee, Shine. Great trans men are few and far between, it seems. Sadly, Mike Frade was only 66 and had been talking about retirement for ten years that I know...
