Traction Help
I Have a 79 Camaro with a stock rear end, what should be my first steps to improve my traction.
This will be a weekend warrior car with only a few trips to the strip.
Thank you

I guess for occasional track time I'd say a pair of CalTrac bars first, along with some quality rear shocks--I like AFCO and Pro personally. Street drag radials are good, Hoosier is my favorite there. Careful on getting too much power and too good a bite on that stock rear end, it'll break and with c-clipped axles that can get ugly! Might also want to check with companies like Moser and Currie to see what a 9" cut to fit with brackets and axles is going to run you....., might not need it now but as the horsepower and traction improve it should become a consideration!!!!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

putting a 9 in that is very EZ done them you need about 61 from hub to hub if my brain is working the 10 bolt with work can hold alot of power.set of caltracks and some stickiy d.o.t tires i use BF goodrich i had Hoosier one time there were quick time tires .i rolled in to the gas. car walked out side ways not a big deal the car was known for this but was hopping around like on gravel pulled over most all tread was gone after a phone call to Hoosier they told me i over powered the tire (no kidding) i know they can make good tries but not sold on there street tire i will stick with BF and i do try to put abit of power threw them have used them for many years on the street they do..... not chunk out...Irish Diplomacy ..the ability to tell someone to go to Hell ,,So that they will look forward to to the trip

Another nasty thing that happened to Camaro rear ends , with too much power and traction is the tube will twist in the housing .
