    I really don't think that 400 mph is attainable at 1000 feet but I do believe it's possible in the 1/4. I think it's a stretch as to whether we will ever see 1/4 mile racing again in Top Fuel and Funny Car. NHRA has too many short tracks that are land locked and thus can't be extended to provide the necessary shut off area. Pomona is the best example as there is a golf course at the end of the track so the only way I see that they could provide a longer track is to reposition the track to an angle to where it now exists and I don't think that's going to happen. BTW, I wonder how how golf scores are affected during the Winternationals and the Finals.
