    Been a While

Been away from the forum for awhile. Only because I got involved with a 55 Chevy, and found a Tri-Five specific site. That project got me involved in drag racing again, and the car, all steel, BBC, runs mid 11's. Lot's of fun in the E-Gas class, heads up racing, but a .5 light. Good for an old guy!
Well, that led to more addiction, and the purchase of a non-running nostalgia altered - needing loads of work (it came in a basket). Did some open wheel racing last year to get used to it, then got the chassis cert, physical, and license passes last summer. The first N.E.III outing in October, revealed a faulty sportsman trans brake, even though we did make it to the third round. So over the winter, the car came apart, again, for the transmission work.
At the A.N.R.A. opener we made it to the final, taking runner up. On the day, we had two identical breakout e.t.'s The first 9.595/9.595 we won by .0014! The last one was on the final race, 9.565/9.565 but we were second by a hair due to my slightly slower r.t. How often do you see identical e.t.'s and two in the same day?
    What a thrill!

    That's a tidy lookin' ride......

What's next? I think I need counseling! I'm still working on 57 Hardtop, but making progress. I also found a 50 Chevy Fleet Line (2dr) and could not pass on the great price. That's in the wings. Always wanted a cruiser. The red Fiat Altered will be for sale at the end of this season. It's a lot of work for my girlfriend, (my only crew), and I did fulfill a dream anyway. Plus those funds already have projects waiting. I did pick up a 23T sbc altered for future open wheel class racing. Another project to be finished and a great buy. The plan is to still do open cockpit, center steer racing, but in slower bracket class. I'm much better on a five-oh sportsman tree, as the best I can seem to muster on a pro-tree is in the .060 range. With the "T", I can still live the fantasy, and do it cheaper. Then Joanna can go back to racing the 55.

Yeah, that open wheel racing is really addictive!!!! I've been away from it since '84 and still have to look through the altered ads on Racing Junk at least once a week!!! Maybe I'll actually get something of my own done this summer and look a bit more seriously....

The hardtop looks nice, good progress!!! It will be nice to hear about the '55 going down the track again, your crew chief needs to have some fun, too!!!!!

Well Dave, that red Fiat will be for sale in October. No need to waste time on Racing Junk! 427/glide Ford 9 lot's of new stuff. Over two years left on cert. Best e.t. 9.361/140mph. Has the e.t. genie for fine tuning right on index. Comes with trailer and tow trike!! Does not include crew chief, however!

Dang, I was reaching for my checkbook til you said it didn't come complete with crew chief!~!!!!!!!!

If you plan on keeping the engine and tranny, let me know what you might have in mind for a roller price.....

Dave, Well, the Fiat has the best value as a complete turn-key including trailer and tow vehicle. So, I won't take it apart. But, I do have a 23T w/SBC - Glide. If you may be interested, pm me. Radford
