Hmmmmm, a '39 Chev coupe. This one's a lot cleaner than my old gasser, but it still stokes the memories. Good pics........Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.

Two dumb questions for you guys from this novice: 1: why is some cars lifted in the rear while others have their slicks on the hard?
2: what is with the large wrap stuff around some of the exhaust outlets, are they just heat shields or are they 4 into 1 set ups?
I known I should know but I have never been really into drags so I'm learning.
I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

Exhaust collectors were discovered to help scavage the exhaust and that ere most were just 4 straight tubes(especially on supercharged engines)
Cars were set up higher for better weight transfer---before the days of 4 links-----
Thanks guys! One more trip around the sun completed. Lots of blessings and things to be thankful for (like still being able to type this message!!) Here's to us "over 70 guys.." Glenn
