We'll be there. We're gonna' try to pit close to the Midwest Super Stock Mafia guys. Hope we can find each other in all the mayhem Jerry.
We are leaving either Thursday or early Friday depending on the work schedule. The MSSM group will be there Friday morning.
Too bad they didn't invite Animal Jim. He has been a fixture at that event."PLAN" your life like you will live to 120.

And then I started up I55--traffic stopped so went cross country to Morris and then North--

I see where Tom Motry's Drastic Plastic fuel altered just ran a 5.28 @ 275 MPH at Joliet, with Mini Me in the seat! I do believe Drastic Plastic is on the list for the World Series, unconfirmed, but they are usually at that event."PLAN" your life like you will live to 120.

Not 'til next weekend. We're hoping to leave Thursday. Motry's time was at the Hollywood Casino Joliet Route 66 Classic. I had a full weekend, guess I should have made the time to go to that one. Sounds like there was some fast times this weekend. Oh, Well, next weekend is looking good weather wise so far, so maybe they will be rotating the earth there too."PLAN" your life like you will live to 120.

What a week end---saw a lot of old friends
even saw Proz28--straw hat and big nice camera-------
The Greek, Big Daddy, Warren Johnson Tim Wilkerson, many others
people were calling me all week to ask where to meet up and many folks I didn't know chased me down to say Hi for some other old time friends that couldn't come---
You should of come Dave because it was overrun with 50,60,70 hiper stuff-seats were all full in the evening for the runs and match races--they were full up onsite and were parking cars on the hiway shoulders---

Looking forward to those photos! If I still lived in Illinois I would have been there!
Here in Tucson we have the SIR track, which is IHRA. They do a couple nice nostalgia events each year, such as a Fuel Altered event... but it will never be like the good old days! {:-) The cars are far fewer in number... are booked in and don't compete "enthusiastically". :-( It's more exhibition than racing.
At least the large number of historic cars on display is rewarding. I'm jealous of the Chicago event goers.

I took a few over the weekend. I need a batch processor or I'll be at this until I'm too old to send them. After sifting through them all I ended up with 976, but few are of the Cordova & LeClaire area.
Cruz was sorta' hard on pistons, but he just kept going rounds.
Here's a few of the California Charger. It's an impressive piece of machinery.

Thanks--it was good seeing you and the others there---
Yep he did use up some pistons, going to have a long talk with him and the modern/current teckno guys--got to cut down the fuel to the cylinders--looks a little like a hydraulic fracture of the piston ring area and its breaking in wards between the pin bosses----only so much volume in there at top dead center and if it isn't burning pretty good it won't fit-------of course on the modern car they have dual ignition systems with all kinds of timers for advance/retard along with clutch timers for it to work---this car has 6 fingers on the pressure plate and its 100% centrifugal where as the modern car has 18 fingers and all sorts of timing devices for applying clutch load/slip-this car has one magneto with an air cylinder that can do 5 * advance/retard with the flip of a air toggle switch on the steering wheel---of course, he must also remember to ship the trans somewhere
But, Bear Town Shaker,Tunder Downunder and Chi Town hustler were all put away for the win----------------
A "skip" = a dumpster.... but he says it's proper english??? Oh.. Okay. Most of us can see the dating site pun, "matching" with an arsonist.. But a "SKIP? How is that a box? It must all be...
