Nmra rules
Found the site for the rules for the 5.0 Coyote sealed engine class, anyone who doesn't like brackets and wants to go back to heads up racing this should be of interest to you!!!! It's a sealed engine, C-4 or 5 speed transmission, 8.8" or 9" rear, and very few other options. Comes down the chassis setup and the driver!!!!
I've heard for years from so many people how they hate bracket racing and would love to go back to drag racing if it was heads up and affordable. Well, here ya go!!!!!

That's simply not true. Ford is pulling away from the professional classes, but according to Ford Racing they are increasing their investment in the local run-what-you-brung classes to try to promote the sport. Ford simply looked at the returns on investment, and decided that their continued support of the top level pro classes did not make sense, so they're shifting to the smaller players.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Ford is dropping John Force, doubt they'll be out of racing!!!! Think we'll see Ford in with the classes like this, and lobbying NHRA to get the Coyote back to legal in Super Stock trim! Doubt Ford will be as upfront and big as they are now in Funny Car, but they'll still be around!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Garlits was at Cordova World Series over the week end with the new Dodge with the v10 viper setup--red lighted in the semis ---------
Was quite a weed end of racing--no seats anywhere Sat afternoon/night and an official told me they were parking cars on the shoulder of the highway--they had a field of 8 jet cars, 20+ nostalgic funnys, several match races, several hundred box and nobox racers, dozens of 50,60,70 hi performance cars
Robin took lots of pictures but I haven't down loaded them yet to see------

I guess if we were talking Funny Cars, Wilkerson and Taska's opinion might be relevant.....
This is just a poor man's class, doesn't have a thing to do with the pro classes.... Ford has a few good engines out there and a whole catalog full of parts that are appealing to a lot of AMATEUR racers. The Pro classes have any entirely different batch of problems to deal with.....Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
