340 6bbl carbs
I am sorting through a 340 6bbl for a friend . got most sorted out but a inconsistent idle when hot, I read an article in a magazine about the small heat activated valve in the main body of the center carb the lets are bypass the throttle plate to lean the charge. I can`t find it but I thought it send to make a block off plate to stop it from working. did anyone read anything similar ? thanks terry

great read, interesting tip on checking lean /rich condition. I can`t see the plate and valve in the main body in the exploded parts view but in can in one of the pictures. I know I have seen a similar part on a 360cid 2bbl stock holley carb.

Great to see your new post, Mike, and great to see CHR up and running again after several days of the Hmmm, can't reach this page.... Also good that you found an easy solution to your storage/access...
