Mike Dunn dumped by NHRA, another step down for NHRA
I can't believe NHRA has dumped Mike Dunn. NHRA is quickly becoming a organization run by business people who know nothing about the sport or for that matter drag racing fans. A sad day in my opinion when all these hot rod shows are showing up hosted by a bunch of bimbos that can't even figure out how to put a distributor in.

People were complaining about the coverage and NHRA new deal changed ALL of that.
Tony will do real good job-he has been a driver for years thru many eras of the fuel wars, he has worked for others and owned, ran his own team also. Just like Mike Dunn his family has been in drag racing since day one and he will be reporting on aspects of the runs that most people don't have a clue about--
I would like to have seen Mike kept on board and believe that there is possibility that he may be after his contract obligations such as maybe no compete clause is done and over. They would be a great team up there together.

I agree Jerry that Tony is a creditable candidate, I remember seeing his dad race at Famosa. I am a Tony and Cruz fan, But It is all about marketing that is killing the NHRA. Do I want it to be a success I sure do. Time will tell.

TDKKART, do not equate my analogy of hot rod shows and their hosts with drag racers in pro class. The shows are what are flooding the networks like Gas monkey, Fantom works, etc. There is a big difference in those shows than pro drivers. A lot of pro drivers start out racing with their own money and wrenches. My point was not just the getting rid of Mike Dunn, but the reason for it. The info was to change the format with more personal interviews with drivers etc. More about personalities than the racing. Personally I think that is what these other hot rod shows are about. 20 minutes listening to trash talk to each other and creating personalities instead of cars.
