Englishtown Drag Strip Closing
They claim track not long enough for the high HP cars. Sounds
like maybe $$ may also have something to do with it.

For 20+ years, the neighbors who built their multi million dollar homes within spitting distance of the track have been filing lawsuit after lawsuit in attempts to get the track shut down. The Knapp's have fought and fought for this entire time. It now appears CoPart made an offer to either purchase and/or lease the property at a price point that makes economic sense to the Knapp family. First Raceway Park, I'm betting the airport across the pond will be the next target for these neighbors.

Oh COPart-----------they are going from a race track to a junk yard with a constant stream of wreckers and tow trucks hauling in and out all day plus that constant beeping of those back up warners on those long nosed fork lifts----and don't forget the oil and antifreeze plus battery issues------

Seems like the world keeps getting more crowded and the every day paycheck man that keeps this country spinning is the one who gets pushed out. We can still egg their houses and put flaming dog poop on their porch thoughSeth

Just like everything, there are good developers and bad, but it may be that the good ones are a diminishing breed. I'd put some blame on the local government who review and approve the development plans without considering the big picture. There has to be a good master plan, and then good people to follow the plan or you have problems. Unplanned expansion is called "Houston".Roger
