    Oh well.

Roger tried on Saturday to get a few passes in at our first test and tune at Thunder Valley (Marion, SD). Unfortunately, with all our flooding and spring rains water was still coming up through some of the patches and cracks in the surface of the track. Didn't even bother unloading. Oh well, I suppose better days are coming.

Overall, the track survived the flooding but not without significant damage. The fence and a gate between the spectator side and the entrance was completely wiped out by ice chunks coming through and the blacktop road that accesses the track had all the asphalt stripped off of it! Repairs to the road (a county road) are supposedly going to be complete by Memorial Day weekend. Some flood damage to the pit area but the track owner was about half done repairing it, he thought another week and the pit area would be back to being all usable.

Could have been worse, I guess. It's been a long winter, anxious to get back to racing!

Been quite the year for that. The bride has been active with horsey stuff since we moved down to Central Texas even started a mobile tack business to drag around to shows. Seems like about 60% of the late winter early spring shows have been cancelled due to rain...……..putting a ding in our growth plan. Last week we got 6 inches just over one night, been on flood warnings for over a week with some of the low level bridges running over with water and debris. Fun year...………..lots of green though.

It's been about the same around here. The local 1/8th mile track has been trying to get a test and tune in for a month or so.

come july/aug all this rain will be a blessing . tanks are full , grass is up for first cut . most importantly it should make summer milder.
made it hard to sell land. nobody wants the walk around in the mud looking .

Same here. We've been getting so much rain the farmers can't get their crops in. My friend was lucky enough to get most of his corn in but they haven't ran for 2 weeks. They might be able to run some tomorrow but they will be done again after tomorrow night. We're supposed to get 1" Thursday night through Friday, Then it is supposed to rain until next Wednesday or Thursday. With that and the new tariffs, things could be ugly for them in 4 months or so.

Our forecast looks like rain all week with a chance of no rain on Wednesday. The soy beans ought to be a crap show this fall..... Corn will be questionable too. But at least some guys got most of their corn in. But hopefully they live submerged......

Nothing much planted around here either Ryan, tough to plan when there are still ducks swimming in the field where the corn should be planted....

We got hammered again last night and it doesn't look good for today either. I'm beginning to think it might be sometime in June or July before they get to make a pass down the track.

we keep loosing tracks to development . closest track to me now is Abilene raceway . straight down the interstate so not too bad . the tracts were getting bad anyway. hard to get anything done with 50+ crotch rockets there eating up track time gambling . test and tune night became a horror . gambling and fights everywhere .
